I've read about 2012 and there are some different theories about it. One theory is that the world will stop turning for 40 hours or so and then it will start turning in the opposite direction,causing earthquakes,volcanos,and another flood. Some mayan texts mention how the sun didn't go down for about two days,and there are other ancient texts talking about 2 days of night,so supposidly the mayans started the calender from this event and calculated when this will happen again.Another theory is that an alien race that visited this planet thousands and thousands of years ago will return and probably wipe out mankind and start over again.
