one of the things we all have to realize is just because (for example) blue's rig or kok's rig or brian's rig kick ass, dosen't mean that that tonal quality would work for, say, myself.

we can all say that some gear is better then others, but who's really right?

the answer: all of us...? none of us...?

you could spend thousands on gear, but it's only going to sound as good as you can play. I want to buy new gear, but I'd rather hone in on my abillity as a musician first before I go and drop loads on a botique head and expensive cabnets. I've got a good idea on what I'd like to get for gear, but it's not going to do me any good if I can't play for shit. I mean, I'm no slouch, but I don't think my abillity merits spending a small fortune (that the wife would probably divorce me over... HAHAHA) on new gear that won't make me play any better.

We all have in our minds what we consider the 'best tone' but that kinda stops at us. Just because someone says "OMG d00d! this is the best head EVAR!" dosen't mean that it's the right gear for you.

we all have our individuality as people, and our tone should be the same, or else we'll end up sounding like every metalcore band on the planet with almost identical tone, or all those death metal bands that are completely devoid of tone and deliver their brutallity through gurgling vocals, blasting drums and a wall of guitar noise that consists of nothing more then distortion.

phew... that was long winded...
