They generally get foreign cars in trades and want to get rid of them due to their names. I went to a Ford dealership a town over from me and they had a Kia. They wanted $5k. I offered $4.5k and the next day when I went in, the dealer said I could have it for what "we agreed on yesterday." I said "Oh, $4k?" I walked out with a 2002 Spectra for less than Blue Book value. I'd recommend trying it if you're really in a bind.
