WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO: Ok, where to start… We have been holed up in the practice space quite a bit lately, no doubt. We haven't played too many shows or toured lately because of a few circumstances. One thing is that I (Mark, guitar player) got married this late summer, and Luke got married this fall. So with wedding planning and honeymoons and all that good stuff we were out for a little bit. And the next thing is some big news for us as a band!..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

-NEW DRUMMER: Yes after 5 years since the start of this band drummer Jon Kirsch is stepping down. No worries, we are still on great terms with him. And we have a new drummer ready to go! Jon has issued a statement-

"As most of you guys know, my band Mercury Switch has been on extended hiatus for most of the winter. Due in part to recent weddings, and me allowing myself more time to spend with my wife and son.
We've been working on some new material on the weekends, and recording a few demo tracks etc… The plan of course is to release a new record and to tour this year to support that record. However, with my new family life and busy work schedule, I've decided that I can't commit to a full time touring schedule, and still support my new family. So that being said, I've decided to step aside and give up the drum chair for MS.
Being a part of this project has been a tremendous life changing experience, and the people I've met along the way have been some of the greatest I could ever hope to know. I mean this whole heartedly, I wouldn't trade those days for anything. And it's actually that very reason that prompted me to make this decision. If Mercury Switch is to continue along the path that we all planned for it, full time touring is an absolute must.
March 17th at Drifters is my last show, so pleeeeeease come and give me a high five.
So that's it I guess, thank you for all the great times. I still plan on playing drums in a couple of projects part time so stay tuned for that. I hope to see you on the 17th! PAYCE!
j"

Who is our new drummer????? Well if you come to the 17th show he will be there and you will find out! If you are not somewhat local to NH and/or cant make it to the show, we will officially announce our new member to the family the next day March 18th!

We have also had to spend some time getting our new drummer ready to go. We are ready to rock now, and we have been writing with our new drummer. ALSO, we would like to send out a shout out to a good friend of ours JOEL STRYCHARZ who we jammed with a bunch. Some of you might know him from such bands as Eklezia, or Hot August Night. He is NOT our new drummer, but he is a super sweet dood!

-SAM ON 2nd GUITAR: Sam is no longer screaming due to some problems screaming is giving his voice and throat. HE IS STILL SINGING. But Sam also knows how to play guitar. Luke has picked up most of his screaming parts. Some of you may have noticed this change if you have seen us last fall, OR the pictures on our myspace or on other web sites that have pictures of us etc… Since he is not doing as much vocals, we are utilizing his amazing guitar skills to add 2nd guitar action to the band. This is giving us more of a full sound and a little heavier. 2 things that are always a plus in this band!

-NEW MUSIC: We have posted 2 new DEMO tracks on our myspace! These are just some rough cuts we have been working on and shopping to labels and such. We posted them to keep you updated on our new stuff and new sound while we finish writing the rest of next album. We are about half way done. We continue to work on new stuff until the new album is done!

-NEW WEB SITE: If you have been to our official web site www.mercury-switch.com you will notice it is not updated at all! Sorry! We are having a new web site constructed right now and we will keep it updated for you. BUT, as mentioned before our myspace is always updated.

-SUMMER TOUR: After we finish writing the rest of our new record we will be getting out and touring! It might not be until summer so please stick with us! After the new cd is released we will definitely be coming to your area if not before then.

-NEW RECORD LABEL: We are searching for a record label right now. This process takes us quite a bit longer than we anticipated! So again, please stick with us while we sort this out. When we know who what where why and when, we will let you know!

-THANK YOU: For sticking with us through this transition time! We are just about ready to be 100% back in action!

Cheers!
