New site? Maybe some day.
Motherfuckers, I need some business! For those of you who are uneducated regarding my background, I've been attending art school for 4 years as an illustration major, have work available to view upon request (I'll have a site up soon hopefully), and I need some fucking jobs for my winter break.
In late January I am 99% sure I need knee surgery, which causes many a financial problem for me. I'm trying to save as much money and work as much/hard as I can for the next 6 weeks to keep my financial situation stable.
Anywho, I'm looking for serious inquiries only, please; I can do logos, t shirt designs, album art, whatever. If you need some art for anything, let me know ASAP and I'll give you the scoop. Since I'm still a student, I won't charge an arm and a leg...just a few fingers, heh heh. I am 100% serious about this, so whoever the eligible customers may be must also be 100% serious.

i totally vouch for this kid's work. |
i as well |
my brother said something to that effect today. we all got old and fat and look like we've all aged ten years now. it'd be like one of those movies. |
believe me, if a ucw reunion was possible it'd already have happened a long time ago. anywho, bump again.
ps...i know cryptic warning and dissector have done business with my partner in crime, evan duplessis. we're trying to get our shit together to start a full force productions company with a focus on art, graphics, websites, etc. so who knows, maybe the two of us will be attacking some projects soon. |

That's cool. |

if you guys ever need a third artist to join the stable, i'm available. it's really hard these days to get a job in the art world. i graduated from umass dartmouth in 2003 with a dual degree in graphic design and electronic imaging. i've had one internship since i left there and a few freelance projects. i'm trying to get into grad school for next year and get a masters so i can teach graphic design at the college level. i have a job interview on tuesday with a design firm. hopefully i'll get a job soon. i don't want to go back to retail. good luck mark. post a link to your portfolio for us when you get it online. i'm redoing my portfolio site after i get all my grad applications out of the way. |
If your site isn't already in the works, I'll do it for you. Free of charge. |
What about some samples... |
i second the samples thing |
bump. he'll get you samples. hire this fucker. |
i'll toss up some samples tomorrow evening; i won't be at my comp until then.
dreadkill: i'll talk to ev about that. i think having an extra element of graphic design would help what we'll be trying to do. i'll keep you posted.
niccolai: that would be awesome; i have one week of the semester left, so i'll get some shit together and we'll figure all that shit out. i'd rather have someone else do the online portion than struggle with it myself, hah. |
Yea, I'd just implie your art into a layout, built the site and structure, and hand it over to you as a template or guideline and you can personalize it. |
hey dreadkill not to rain on your parade... but you most likely wont get a college/university gig with just a masters...
in massachusetts, after teaching 5 years in the public school system (k-12) you need to have your masters degree to continue teaching....
you know what my masters degree got me? a middle school teaching job for a year....laid off...and now not rehired anywhere for the past two years because with already having my masters they have to pay me more. |
testing...

woooo!!!! here's some more shit...
there are more where these came from. here are the stats on the above images:
1. (in previous post) Digital; Personal work trying to get familiar with photoshop
2. Gouache; Illustration I final in college
3. Scratchboard; Illustration project to illustrate aesop's fable 'the fox and the crow.' i put my own spin on it
4. White prismacolor pencil on black construction paper; illustration project to make 1 image with 2 awkwardly grouped items, and make image again in reverse (first version was regular pencil on paper)
5. Pen and Ink, Gouache, Watercolor; Illustration III final (latest work) to illustrate 2 rooms: one showing despair, one showing happiness
6. Same as above; 2nd part to assignment
7. Pen and Ink; 16x20 self portrait, using different markmaking techniques in each 4x4 square
8. Acrylic; group collaboration with 12 others in class, about 6 feet tall x 18 ft wide

if anyone needs anything more specific whether in terms of medium, size, subject matter, concept, etc., let me know. |

if my dick could draw, it would do a better job than this |
If my dick could think, it would say you're a pussy, and your username is just as bad. |
if my dick could shoot fire, it would burn your friggin face off for saying stupid shit on this website to people. i'm an artist with a degree in art. i say he knows what he is doing. what are your credentials buckley? |
bump! |
funny thing is, i made all that with my dick... |
shit, i forgot i organized my stuff on photobucket so none of it is showing up now. hopefully this link will work, so you can see all the previously posted items as well as a few more pieces. if not, i'll repost the pictures if i have to. I WILL NOT REST!!!!!

art is subjective... granted the way the person commented might not have been cool.... but i know a lot of people with degrees who suck huge donkey balls.
one of my favorite artists never had an art class (well minus elementary school).... but he is extremely gifted....
you can learn the technicalities of drawing or painting... how to mix paint...where a shadow belongs in relation to your light source, etc etc... but subject matter, overall composition, the movement of your brushstrokes, the emotion that a piece evokes, those are things you really cant learn.... those are pieces of the puzzle you either have or dont have.
do i like the work here? its alright...nothing that really grabbed my attention (tho i kinda liked the sketch of the dude choking the chick)....but i have a BA and a MA and taught art for a while... those are my credentials... does it make my OPINION anymore credible... no not really....
because if u didnt learn in your little classes that art is about a relationship with the artist and the viewer and that that relationship is different for each viewer...that every person gets something different out of a work...that something that someone loves someone else will hate...that ART IS SUBJECTIVE...than really u learned nothing at all. |
but i think his point was that the anonymous guy was being a dick
like a lot of people on here, especially lately unfortunately |
"funny thing is, i made all that with my dick... "
well played |
wow, that stuff's pretty good. i especially like the guy tied up in the chair w/ the lightbulb above him and the one to the left of it |
thanks tbone r; i actually had to fix the chair one, since my light source didn't match the light reflecting on the walls. just a simple lampshade fixed that...hopefully i'll get that piece back from my professor soon along with the 2nd component to it (the really bright colored one), cuz i had to fix some stuff on there as well.
as far as the comment that keithbuckley made, i really don't give a shit. if someone says my music or taste in music sucks, whatever. if someone says my art or taste in art sucks, whatever. art definitely is subjective. too many people get all bitchy when their work--whether any form of art, music included, etc.--gets bad remarks or harsh criticism. i make art for myself...well, for my professors and clients too. but i make sure i make it how i want to. i thank dreadkill anyway, cuz he's a cool shit and i know he was just trying to keep this thread positive as he is an artist himself. no need to argue here folks.
and also...i know many art instructors at umass dartmouth, as well as a few other schools, that have just their bachelor's degree in art, and they're some of the best teachers i've had. from what i understand it's kind of easy in this area to get a college instructor job when attending the same school for grad school. rock on south shore! yowza! |

back up to the first page |
we have 3 releases out this year. we could possibly use your skills man. |
awesome; just let me know when, what style you're looking for, concepts, etc etc etc. just as a heads up: i like when a band already has a few ideas for artwork, or at least some sort of guidelines (concept/subject matter, style of art or style of another artist, all that jazz). that makes the process much quicker and more enjoyable for both me and the band. meamogre18@hotmail.com is my email. let me know what's goin down. |
hooker does some crazy shit. i bow before him. |
if you want work, start your own thread. quit stealing business
bitch |
"bow"?!?!?!
on your knees now!!! |
I've started my own thread before. Just reiterating, fatty. |
bump
i think if anyone stole business from me, i'd want it to be hooker cuz his work is ridiculous. check it out if you can |
why thank you steph...i may look into that. |
