i've told him that about 52 times...his reply "when i get to it" or he says ok and then forgets...glad you said it because now he'll take the time to correct it in the db.

I don't know if it's in the code now, but the ability to edit band info, etc. |

i think you can only add a link to yer band other than that, email the rev to fix it |

oh if you want a suggestion since you want to know how people found the site etc. add it to the profile page in the section where you ask questions "what you do" after that say "how did you find rttp" |

I've had plans to make it so a person could choose to show a different version of the board with avatars and signatures...
but I haven't had the time yet...
I've been fixing bugs and working on some special additions in the area of the events page (like the flyers) and the bands page to make them hold more information. |

the idea of avatars and signatures it bad, people abuse the shit out of those things. avatars are funny, but sigs? naw, the board is fine the style it is now. |

well, the idea I was thinking was you wouldn't see anything until you clicked "advanced mode" and were logged in. then you see avatars and stuff. |

the other problem I see with that is bandwidth, the forum the way it is keeps bandwidth use to a minimum, if you add avatars, that chokes up bandwidth. and could ultimately cause the slowdown of RttP |

actually, the server only has a 10Mbps link to the world.
for $10 extra a month, I could get a 100Mbps uplink... but I'm going to probably wait... no real need for it.
Granted there are 10Mbps busts, but the site does and average of 1.1Mbps over a month.
the current server is:
2.4GB P4
1GB DDR
80GB hard drive
in a year (since I seem upgrade every 1 1/2 years), I will probably get a 3+Ghz with 2GB RAM and a dual 80GB RAID with a 100Mbsp uplink for the same price. |
