I found the plots for them
http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/episode7/plot.html
http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/episode8/plot.html
http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/episode8/plot.html

it seriousl reads like they would do much better as TV shows... I don't know.. they aren't very long. you could probably do each in an hour.
I haven't read 9 year.

I don't think those are real. In the next 3 books, doesn't Luke go to the dark side, and don't Han Solo and Leia have twins who become the next jedi masters? (The gemini twins, or something)

I don't think Luke goes to the dark side, because they have an ongoing storyline of him teaching Leia to be a Jedi and then eventually opening his own Jedi Academy. She and Han do have twins, though. I am both pathetic and sad for knowing all of this.

I think you are correct my friend, suposidly Leia becomes a jedi and kills Luke off. Also Emperor Palpatine is resurected and gets Luke the same he did to Anakin.

grundlegremlin: you are wrong
from a george lucas interview:

question"My question to you is what did you think of the Dark Empire series where Palpatine came back in a clone of himself?"

george lucas: "Resurrecting Palpatine is not my vision. I don’t agree with it. Somebody wanted to continue the Return of the Jedi story so I saw no harm in allowing them to bring back Palpatine. I enjoyed reading the Dark Empire series very much, but it should not be confused with official Star Wars history."

you guys are confusing the official and other people's stories.

Chewie also dies in one of the books when an asteroid crushes him or something and Han becomes an alchoholic because he feels guilty about Chewie's death.

there seems to be a ton of books that are just other people's writing and not lucas's.

George Gets Good Natured Ribbing

June 10, 2005

At the AFI black-tie dinner where George Lucas was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award, good fun was had at his expense and he even got into the fun himself....

From Reuters and reported on Excite.com:

Ford, who played Han Solo in the popular film series, complained he was never Lucas' first choice for the role, saying, "when he was casting I couldn't even get a meeting." He complained that the same thing happened when Lucas was casting for the Indiana Jones role in "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

Fisher, who played Princess Leia, told the audience, "Hi. I am Mrs. Han Solo and I am an alcoholic because George Lucas ruined by life. ... George Lucas is a sadist, but like any other young girl in a metal suit chained to a metal (creature), I keep coming back for more."

IESB Interviews George

Posted By Philip on June 10, 2005
From IESB.net:

IESB: "Now the Star Wars TV series that you completely just shocked
everyone over at the Indiana convention, when does that go into
production? Or do you already have a team in pre-production?"

LUCAS: "Ah, we're getting ready to go on the animated series, and then
the live action will be, you know, a year or two later."

IESB: "Now, it's going to take place between Episode III and Episode IV,
or are we going to see some back series, like Knights of the Old
Republic and all that stuff."

LUCAS: "Well, there is a possibility of that, but not in this series.
You know, there's a possibility of more series if these work."

IESB: "And the last question... Was Sith truly the last Star Wars film,
or do we think maybe in the future, if the series is so successful, that
we might see another [George starts slowly shaking his head at this
point] young director taking on Star Wars and making another feature film."

LUCAS: "Nope. This is the end of it."

IESB: "This is the end of it."

LUCAS: "Yup."

No, in that story, Palpatine comes back as a clone that he made of himself, so Luke turns to the dark side to get close to him and learn his plans and destroy him. He then turns back to the light. Later on in the story Han and Leia have twins. Luke tries to train Leia(but shes more of pain in the ass than he was), re-builds the Jedi Academy, trains the twins, then Han and Leia's other son. Chewy dies trying to escape a planet while it is being destroyed. I'm gonna stop now.

Okay, not to beat the horse, but I SWEAR that luke ends up fighting the twins?

The titles are as follows:

7. Heir to the Empire
8. Dark Force Rising
9. The Last Command

You can pick these up at any bookstore. They are all good reading. The Empire's new leader in these books is named Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Oops, scratch those numbers. It looks like the "new" episode 7,8,9 will be set 30 years later.

The original "Heir to the Empire" trilogy (released in 1992-93) is set five years after Return of the Jedi.

Anyone read the New Jedi Order series of SW books?

They started coming out about 2 years ago and are set about two decades after ROTJ. Han and Leia have twins, Jacen and Jaina who are teenagers, as well as Anakin who is a few years younger. Luke and Mara Jade have Ben Skywalker at some point in the series, and Chewie dies in the 2nd book. Anakin also dies about 7 books in.

The basic premise is that there is this alien race from outside the galaxy that doesn't exist in the Force and uses all biological organisms as weapons, ships, and all other tech. Its a pretty cool Star Wars series, maybe the best since the Thrawn Trilogy. The aliens are also sado-masochists, wicked metal.
