blankA Friend of mine is working on tabbing out Why Play Around (except for the solos). He's also doin' some stuff off of ugly and suicide notes as well as some demo stuff. It's gonna be posted on ultimate-guitar.com so guitarists, Keep your eyes peeled! |
Anyone who can help with the solos, let me know E-mail MURDERSTEINBAG@YAHOO.COM. Thanks |
Because you NEED tabs to figure out THIS album :P |
If you say, I'm not saying I don't like this record, because I do, but it's extremely basic thrash metal (one of the reasons it is appealing). |
I'm a guitar player too,and it's not a matter of the music being hard,it's a matter of getting it available to people. Who knows, there may be a 16 year old kid out there somewhere who found his brothers' copy of W.P.A., Started playing guitar and wants to learn it. That's fucking cool. My hat's off to you,my friend. It don't matter if they broke up, Wargasm still rules and if people are going to come down on you for tabbing the shit out and saying it's too easy, just remember when you were 14 and that older dude showed you how to play holy wars. Alot of young people are getting into "gasm and that's just one more thing you're doing to keep them into 'em. Good Show, Mate! |
I just started playing guitar a year and a half ago. This is gonna be sick.Wargasm Shreds! |
Heh. I don't think I really 'came down' on anyone...that said, I was really only kidding (I could have sworn the :P in my post would give it away), it's just that I know 13 year old kids today who are using tabs to learn stuff like Dillinger Escape Plan and Decapitated, so I was a little surprised. Hey, if people want to tab anything, all the power to them, whether it is Wargasm, the Great Kat, or 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'.
For the record though, I learned how to play 'Holy Wars' by listening to the CD when I was 15 (1990), I did not have an older dude to teach me. And I suck at guitar. Sorry. |
The holy wars reference wasn't meant for anyone in particular. Just a typical situation that happened to Many people when they started playing guitar. I have no idea what :p means. Sorry |
Well that explains it.
:P = tongue sticking out, a prehistoric internet emote. |
try tabbing the solos, it would take you a zillion years
Wargasm are incredible musicians
when I was 16 my friends handed me their cassette and told me, "This band is better than Metallica." |
I enjoyed Wargasm, I started listening with their demo when they were MANIAC and then that one album "Why Play Around?" kicked ass, the guitar riffs were cool and I liked the drum mix a lot, but there were just so many great bands during that '86-90 Golden Age era. It must have been in the water! Or maybe an asteroid passed by Earth and left some cosmic dust. Wargasm and Meliah Rage were definitely the most successful Boston thrash bands from that era, I loved Subjugator and Formicide too, but my favorite was the Atomicaust 5-song demo.
I remember a lot of people would say this and that was the next Metallica or a particular album was better than Metallica (of course I am referring to 80s Metallica). They said that about Wargasm, Mortal Sin, Midas Touch, Holy Terror, Onslaught, and so forth. Unfortunately it didn't turn out that way. And as much as I love those bands I've never heard a 'Master of Puppets'-caliber record come out of them. Come to think of it, I doubt a lot of these bands would have existed or sounded as they did without Metallica. Now, to just pretend Metallica ceased to exist after 1988 |
I wish I had someone hand me a Wargasm tape during my brief Metallica phase. |

It's never too late to appreciate thrash. |
I think it'd be nice to have ExAgenda open for these guys at some point. Hell, maybe Meliah Rage too...
Anyone here that could make that happen? |
I'd pay any amount of money to have wargasm play around again. |
