Roadrunner Vice President: "I stopped signing death-metal bands in '93 or '94....The glory days have long ago passed."
i don't think death metal ever had any "glory days" altogether. no matter what time period, there were always truckloads of crappy bands, and a few good ones.
i think that "glory days" applies to individual bands.
I disagree...i strongly feel thrash had the most identity and there were so many bands that didn't sound like one another...Metallica didn't sound like Slayer who didn't sound like testament who didn't sound like Overkill who didn;t sound like Wargasm...WAY more individuality in thrash and a lot more quality artists
