adam mason of goratory/sexcrement is probably one of the most amazing vocalists that i've had the pleasure to share the stage with. after seeing how much whiskey that kid can drink before busting out some of the sickest gutturals, i'm amazed. he's got an amazing range, tons of power, stage presence, and he's pretty unique among death metal vocalists.

olivia from polaris is my other favorite vocalist; she's got some fucking lungs!

as far as drums go, the body farm's last drummer, and also the last drummer from dour cursiva, ryan murphy (aka Murph on here) is one of the most talented and diverse drummers i've ever been able to play with. if gene hoglan, kevin talley and chris penne had a baby it would be murph.

devon hunt, who i was able to be in terminally your aborted ghost and sexcrement with, has the best feel and power of any drummer i've seen/played with, even though he breaks shit like a motherfucker, haha.

for bassists, a kid that i was in a band with years ago named andrew lederman could do more on a bass when he was 17 than 90% of any other bassist around here. unfortunately, he never took the initiative to follow music seriously but still jams at his house anyway.

zack, formerly of goratory (rice on suede album) and valasyrka is one of the sickest bassists that is active in this area.

max lavelle, currently of goratory, is fucking ridiculous too. i appreciate his playing style a shitload because he knows when to play himself down to fit with a song, but when the opportunity arises to go crazy, he will.

dave davidson of revocation is the biggest faggot in the world and should be shot...i kid, i kid. i've told him many times that he's the best around (as if he hasn't heard it enough from dreadkill, hahaha). he's got amazing stage presence and energy for a kid doing stuff as technical as he is.

al glassman from goratory writes some of the best death metal riffs in history.

DRUMMERS

John Gillis: Kevorkians Angels / CWAF / ex-A.C. / ex-TITD / Watchmaker... ahhhhh WEYMOUTH! i've played guitar with him before and he makes my garbage sound good. that's not easy to do.

Mike B: BOE / NooseBomb etc.

Mike Adams: GUT

Hirudinea's Drummer: i forget his name but he's come along way from when i can remember.

Brian Betzger: Jerrys Kids

GUITARISTS

Brad: CWAForkian

Tom: CWAF

Cody: NightStick

Josh Martin: A.C. i like his riffs a lot in A.C. and Adolf Satan (play another show)

Jeff Hayward: Grief / Noosebomb

BASS

Nick Camilleri: Kevorkians Angels / You're Fired... hands down the best bass player around

VOCALS

Seth Putnam: A.C. his screams are inhuman live

Mark York: Kevorkians Angels / CWAF

Brian Livotti: Watchmaker insane vocals and the face to back it up. pure hatred and violence destruction kill fucking everyone! i remember one time my brother and i were practicing and he just grabbed the mic and went off for like 5 minutes. i wish we recorded that :-(

Drums / Vocals / Bass / Guitars / Violin / Keyboards / Sitars / Flutes / Slide Trombone... BRIAN FUCKING PEPPERS!

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Feb 7,2007 9:23am
shit, i forgot my current drummer eliot bayless. he's never done anything that the majority of RTTP would know, but he is the only drummer i've ever played with that will not settle for anything unless exploring all options, and will push himself and anyone he is jamming with past their limits.

brian peppers is unrivaled.

im surprised no one has said "Mike Mangini" or even Darren ex-a billion different bands. the bass player from Pillory/ex-Virulence has stupid awesome chops. i wish my left hand could play like his.

probably because no one around here remembers you unless they saw you at a show the night before

darren's definitely the best drummer to come out of NE...by far

Darren is second to Mike Mangini.... that dude is TOO good. even Darren himself admits that Mangini is mindbogglingly awesome

Drums, the guy with the long pony tail that looked really stuck up that played for the red chord during the time they recorded fused together in revolving doors. I forgot his name.

Bass, Shawn from Porphyria. I like his style because it is tech, somewhat different, but NOT overdone. Plus he has a surfboard with strings haha.

Guitar, Kurt Balluo from converge. He really pushed the envelope and practically created a genre.

vocals seem to subjective to me. Too hard to narrow it down.

Drums:

I'd have to say the kid from STR/The Accursed is really strong, mOe, Evan from Last Chance because all-around he's phenomenal, Maggot from ATNFAC because he's a genius and quite fast, and my drum teacher, George Correia, because hes the smartest drummer in history. Mike Mangini is also god-like, saw him with Steve Vai in like 99'-00' and he was phenomenal. Wish I could have seen Annihilator.

Guitars: Brian Williams wins this one hands down for me.

Mark F'n Richards is probably the most creative musician I've met in a long time, and our buddy Niccolai can play just about every instrument. Must be the lack of caucasian in his system.

Kurt Ballou, I agree with. AJ Harvey from Last Chance will make most look stupid. The Porphyria duo of Blue and Tom is also quite nasty.

Bass: I saw some guy at JR Bean in Bristol, RI last month playing for some fusion band, and he was definitely the best bassist I'd ever seen or heard live. So yeah, him.

Vocals: The tandem of Jake/Pires Dc to me is the best because they are the most creative I've ever heard two vocalists be with phrasing and using two very different voices so well in contrast.

Nate Johnson is fun to play with because his range and volume destroys all else. He played with WOOS at the last show I played with DC and he's ten times louder than anyone else, naturally.

Nate Mott from Bristol, RI has one of the best singing voices I've ever been around.
