I'm still waiting to hear back from their promotions about shooting this. |
it better not be...they are one of my favorite bands..torche is good too |
cant wait for this. missed jesu last time, and torche 2wice in a month - killer. thank god for medicinal marijuana. |
ok, I'm all set. shooting! |
not sold out, i called this afternoon |
sweeet...leaving in five minutes |
that's weird if it is. im on my way there. |
This show was fucking excellent in CT last night. Taped Jesu and Torche. Jesu merch failed to impress, however. |
fog 8:30
torche 9:30
jesu 10:30
this is going to rule. |
Does Fog sound way way different now, or are they just a weird addition? |
weird addition. definitely not the polish fog. or the velvet fog for that matter.
fog: very quite almost like low, but the prts where they "rocked" more, the singer sounded more like the singer from the dismemberment plan. Very very low key to say the least. Playing that slowly takes more talent than playing for drummers at least. You could see him counting off beats in his head. He had a little bit of help from an akai (or some vintage synth). Btw, the stage left guy looked like chan (oldschool rttp reference). |
torche: a billion things on stage for them to set up before even thinking of sound checking and not enough time to do it in. I swear, the drummers shirt was taunting me. Kylesa needs to tour again. Their set sounded so much better than the museum school set. However, the crowd/stage barrier that the middle east has made it less than in your face. They played 2 newer songs that had less downtune rock and more Jesu to them. The Possessed rip off shirt is the best.
right now Jesu-tin is wishing he got a deal. where are all those "i'm a mac, i'm a pc" commercials now, how? |
Broadrick spent half his set trying to figure out how to delete system32 on his mac. |
i cant believe how bad his vocals were...ive never been more dissapointed in seeing a favorite band live for the first time |
torche and fog were awesome...especially torche |

i got one for myself... their merch pretty much sucked hard |
idk, the only thing wrong with the vocals was the fact that they were a little loud and not echoy enough. |

No way, no ears, because he uses that voice modulator crap on the albums changing the pitch to being in key. |

Make that, uh, thirded?
I totally agree, totally shit voice live. Totally off key and like the Rev said, not enough delay on them. They sounded way to dry.
Otherwise they were really good, the sound overall was awesome and the drums were so fucking loud and deep. I am not the biggest Jesu fan (hard to be considering what else JKB has done in the past and not just Godflesh) but it was totally worth the $10. I actually had to leave at the end of their set so i didn't see the last one or two songs. How was it and what did they play? |
i believe the setlist was
stanlow
old year
conqueror
silver
tired of me
transfigure
friends are evil |
Okay cool, i just missed the last two. The last song i saw was "Tired of Me" and thats probably the best Jesu song (i have heard anyways). |
ya tired of me and friends are evil are my favorites...they need a second guitarist so they dont have to rely on the computer and help broadrick with some backing vocals. |
I really enjoyed Fog and bought their LP. Torche had great sound, and Jesu after everything was working sounded great to me. I guess he was off key...but it's not like he was singing much of a melody at any time. |
REUNITE GODFLESH DAMNIT!!! |
CT show was flawless
neener neener |
jesu: 11 minutes late, but they started off and... stopped. It seems like the computer was tossing fits. They struggled to get it working again while the bass reverberated and fed back. "technology, can't live with it, can live with out it" - justin
"use windows" - crowd
They started again and the same thing happened.
After 15 minutes more, they still hadn't gotten it figured out. Justin was still calm as a cucumber. Their photographer dude became a platform to hold their MAC. The third time wasn't a charm. It still failed on the same note. After their first song they stopped for a 4th time and worked on the issue again.
Another 15 minutes later, with the laptop in another room, "we are jesu". |
if you behave, aaron, i might get you a DVD of said flawless CT performance |
every review ive read has said his voice has been horrible...i doubt he got it togethor for that one CT show......if you are talking about the actual music then I have to agree..once he got the computer problems solved, it was great..if only he could learn to sing live |
