I recently discovered Unholy "From the Shadows" which causes me to scratch my head and ponder on the thought "how did this go under my nose for so many years?"
This is the album I've wanted to hear for many years. This isn't stoner doom nor is it slow death like Skeptisicm or the s/t Khanate release. Its kind of in the vein of the first Shape of Despair release, disembowelment (demo era), Opeth (Orchid era), and Winter.
here is a list of the doom albums I've been listening to.
1. Unholy - From The Shadows
2. Cathedral - Statik Majick
3. Upsidedown Cross - s/t
4. Black Sabbath - a mixture of the Ozzy era
5. Evoken - Quietus (check this out if you haven't already. Its been a doom favorite of mine for years)
I had Autopsy's "Severed Survival" playing in the car on the way home....not really a doom band, but they have doomy riffs sprinkled around here and there.
