It could be we're going to finally get a break from the crowd. When there's too many metalheads, quality material gets drowned out by the herd, and most of those "metalheads" are johnny-come-lately kids hiding Nas CDs under the Blasphemy. As they all fade away, the times of qualtiy metal return -- which you can see by the resurgence in the old school death metal and black metal bands now touring and releasing new albums.

Theres nothing wrong with jamming to a little memory lane or NY state of mind. |

I definitely agree that big shows wouldn't be bad with much less kids at em... but what about the big bands that really are good? Kids buy the most merch, and more kids means bigger shows with bands from farther away. |
|
The problem isn't the kids the problem is the record labels signing and marketing shitty music to the kids (some music actually being shitty, some being based on opinion). Metal wouldn't be alive if since the beginning younger people didn't start getting into it through the years. |
|
right, but we're talking about the trendyness of metal going down.. which has a direct correlation to how many kids will go to shows. |

Good point. I'd put Bullet for My Valentine in the first category, and all the REM/U2 stuff in the latter (80s indie).

Ahhh I see. The trendyness and not necessarily the amount of kids getting into metal. |
