New site? Maybe some day.
I just got a call this morning from the owner saying that due to recent circumstances, the venue will be temporarily closed, effective immediately. This is solely due to the number of guests that the venue has been attracting and breach of the building's fire code. The owner is looking into the details to see if the legal issues can be overcome with a bit of remodeling.
In the meantime, there is a nearby venue that is very interested in getting our shows and crowdbase. I will be going over to talk with the owner as soon as I get out of work to see what the terms are like. I know they serve alcohol and food, have a much larger space than Mos Eisley, are easily accessible by public transit, and have better temperature control, but I am mainly concerned with age restriction, hours of closing, etc. I want this to come together as soon as possible (if the shoe fits), and I will update tonight as to the progress. If you have any questions, consider emailing moseisleybooking@gmail.com , or ask in here.

balls! i'll never get to play "Slowly Digested Over 1000 Years" at Mos Eisley. |
That sucks. I heard the last show got shutdown before I could even make it over there. I really, really love this place and hope something can be worked out. Please keep this thread updated and thanx. |

I think it's time we Jedis took control of this joint and alleviate the patrons from this "Jabba" dude. |
just re open it and call it Aldera or Rwookrrorro or Bestine or Theed...any of these planetary cities of the star wars universe will throw them off. |
ITT: Shows have been moved to hoth for the foreseeable future |
the cantina band is jobless now. :( |
Max Rebo for hire. |
wha's gonna happen to Salacius Crumb? |
sent u an email. I might be able to help. |
well, his employment in Jabba's palace was based on his ability to make Jabba laugh once a day or he'd be eaten. i'm willing to bet the closing of Mos Eisley doesn't bode well with Jabba. |
He'll have to live on his skiff for the time being... |
is the no droid policy still in effect? |
having to temporarily close a venue because too many people are showing up is great thing. that means there are limited spaces like that and you were working hard and doing the all the right things. keep up the good work, don't lose momentum and Mos Eisley will prosper again. |
A hive of scum and villainy |
Well R2 was able to wait tables for the execution...some exceptions. |

jeez, two awesome venues get shut down in one week? that sucks! |
what else got shut down? |
I think he's talking about Unit 11. |
It's a sign to return to the times of KofC, VFW and Legion shows! |
Man I haven't been to a vfw show in almost 10 years |
It's slowly turning into the only option for all ages metal shows :( |
Going to check out a bar that's cool with 18+ metal shows at 6 tonight, will update afterwards. |
I was hoping to book a few shows there too... |
this definitely sucks, good luck with the bar |
You should see if unit 11 wants to host... Oh whoops nevermind |

FOUND A NEW SPOT:
I just got back from meeting with the owner of Champions Cafe in Everett and all future shows will be booked there. The shows will be 21+ to start with, but the management is fine with 18+ shows in the future (if things go well at first). I'm aiming to prove that we can bring in a good crowd so that he opens it up to 18+ for a select number of shows.
So in a sense, Mos Eisley Studios is now Mos Eisley Productions, since we'll be providing the operational support to make these shows happen.
Some perks about the place:
-less sketchy area with free parking on the main and side streets
-increased capacity (can fit 3x the people as before)
-there is a kitchen, which will serve up who knows what
-$2 Rolling Rock drafts (for our shows only, sweet deal eh?)
-literally 1 minute away from the old place, only this time it is on 3 bus lines, so easier public transportation
-I will make sure that bands get treated somehow via alcohol, in addition to their regular under-the-table sexual favors
-lots of places to eat (read:pizza) in the area
-not in flood territory
The anti-perks:
-place closes at 1am (like every other bar)
-not BYOB anymore
-no smoking inside, but in front and on the sides of the building is totally cool
-you won't die of the heat during summer shows, like you would if shows were still happening at the old Mos Eisley
Tomorrow's show is hopefully the only show that will be canceled by this change, the others are all still in full effect to slay. I hope that you guys all make it to the shows that you were intending to see, and we will make sure that you have an even better time than you would at the old spot.
LEGENDS NEVER DIE! |
why didn't you just wave your hands and say "this isn't the place you want to close, move along" |
Sucky shit is slightly less sucky and shit. |
