New site? Maybe some day.

Guitar prodigy JEFF LOOMIS has locked himself in the studio for the past few months perfecting his highly anticipated sophomore solo record, to be released later this year. After his departure from NEVERMORE and the release of his solo debut -- Zero Order Phase in 2008 -- fans have been craving a new album. With a number of influential musicians appearing on the upcoming release, JEFF LOOMIS is more than ready to deliver. Details on two NAMM appearances have also been announced. JEFF LOOMIS comments:
"A couple of years ago I achieved my childhood dream of releasing a solo album. With the releasing of my second record coming up, I'm proud to announce another dream come true...or should I say dreams...Marty Friedman, Tony MacAlpine and Chris Poland have all done guest solos for it. These guys must have given me hundreds of blisters on my fingers when I was a kid trying in vain to emulate their work. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out some of their solos. To have three guitar players that I looked up to as a young player and still hold in such high regard is simply amazing. I can't thank those guys enough.
In other news, I'll be down in Southern CA next week for this year's NAMM show. I have two new Schecter models that I'll be showing and I'll be doing a signing Saturday, the 21st, at their booth at 1pm as well as another one later that day with Engl Amps at 5. Also, I just confirmed a full US tour for April. I can't wait to get back out on the road again. More details on that soon."

I think he secretly wants to be in Megadeth. I say let him in, Dave. |

Well, gee, he auditioned when he was 16. If Broderick ever left for some reason, I'm sure Loomis would jump at the chance. (Although I'm sure Loomis was the one who pointed out Broderick to Mustaine in the first place.) |
Hmmm. I must've forgotten about that because the idea just seems so bizarrely outlandish.
However, NOW that Nevermore is no more I'm sure he'd do it. |
This album will rule, just like his last solo album. |
i thought the last one had too much wankery. i mean don't get me wrong, Loomis wankery is top notch, i just hope for more of his signature riffage and less meedely meedely. |

Agreeeeeeed. He's one of the only soloists I dig, but I can't stand an entire song of soloing, nevermind an entire album. I don't miss the singing, I just miss the riffs standing alone. |
Guys....don't get so bugged out over this stuff. I have tried my best for years to start a solo project at the behest of the band and the label. I'll be in the area at some point and will be looking forward to meeting some of you.
p.s. tell the webmaster that I really dig the site. I hear a lot about it, and that they have a professional photographer that does a ton of nice work for the bands. Prepare for the new LP, it's gonna shred!

it could be, yeti. never wash this thread, ever. |
that would be really cool if Jeff actually posted that. one of my ultimate guitar heroes for sure. |
It could be...I promise that I don't work for a fishing rod company. I just figured that I'd post some of of Keith Merrow's work. The guy is amazing...wish I had found him earlier. if you really dig Prog, this guy is the man!! We'll be recording in early July.
ok....now to figure out this hyperlink stuff...haha.

By the way...Keith makes one heck of an asparagus cheese dip!! Chips are optional! |
Jeff, I have a green pick you threw into the crowd in 2001. Want it back? |
I don't use the green one's, man...not sure where you got that. I use 1.5-2.0 Tortex...usually the white 1.5's. What year was that in? Maybe my scrounging days...not that I can really afford them now! |
It has your signature on the back and is a green Tortex |
Must have been an old .88 that I used. Tunings were higher back then...Come out of the stoneage, bro!...1.5's are the new Pizza Hut! |
Guys and Gals, I gotta go...I need a Turkey sub from Subway...have to work tomorrow...yes, actual work. Wish I could live on that MJ budget! I hear that guy had a great Doctor! |
Good luck on the recording process if this in fact Mr Loomis. we get alot of pranksters around here so it could go either way. |
Keep choppin' trees, Axemen!
p.s. great show by the way! |
Haha...my good ole' Ma thinks I'm still the devil, so you're guess is as good as mine. Keep tearing up the mainstream! Not sure when I'll be in the area, but keep your noses to the wind and your fingers on the fretboard! |
DONT GO JEFF, ITS TOO SOON |

Exceptional guitarist's solo albums: all riffs no leads lolwut. |
If that's a troll, it's bizarrely "normal" and "believable". And I commend whoever's behind it. Although the phrases "Don't work for a fishing rod company" and "1.5's are the new Pizza Hut" I found particularly lulzy. |
If that's not...no, it is. |
Kinda feels like Santa Claus or Slash. You know in the back of your head it's not real but you want to believe. |
