Not sure how reliable the sources are, and I know it's easy to make fun of this venue... but this could be a HUGE hit to shows and tours that come around.

i agree. demolision to this building has been threatened many times over the course of this venues current ownership though.

as much as i hate the palladium...or to be more specific, i think their sound guy would make a good match for helen keller..i think more parking downtown is useless, you already got 2 sizeable garages and a few more lots within walking distance of there.

Yeah, I've never had a problem finding a space downtown. I've seen adds on real estate websites for the Palladium before so it wouldn't surprise me if they sold it.

Didn't they demolish the one(or are in the process of) demolishing the one right down the road from the DCU center? It's been quite a while since I've been down that way, but remember seeing half of it gone. I remember watching something on tv about them building condos there instead.

they tore down like half of it, that garage is fucking huge, you can park UNDER the fucking dcu center and still be in the same garage, plus the garage across from uno, plus the honey farms lot, and the lots behind/across from the palladium, and sometimes st vincents has event parking too....all these parking spots and nothing to actually get people to come to worcester.


i forgot about the lot behind mechanics hall, and all the street parking too....

Word spread to the Worcester Mag office pretty quickly on Tuesday that the owners of the Palladium were filing – or at least threatening to file – paperwork for the demolition of the music hot spot and regional Juggalo headquarters in order to create more parking for the courthouse across the street. Worcester attorney and Palladium owner John Fischer, when asked to comment on the rumors, said he hadn’t made a decision yet but added, “It has a lot to do with taxes.” Like a number of the city’s commercial property owners, the Palladium has seen a huge spike in its fiscal year 2012 assessment and subsequent tax bill, jumping from an assessed value of $689,000 in 2011 to $2.27 million this year. “We’re still debating what we’re going to do,” Fischer lamented. “We’ll know by August 1.””
